It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of social media networks. We get to see all of the amazing things that our favorite celebrities are doing, and often times start to compare our lives with theirs. This can lead to thoughts like “How could I ever measure up to them?” or “Why couldn’t my life be this exciting?” These thoughts can be destructive, and it’s easy to lose sight of who we are when we are so caught up in the lives of those we follow. We may even feel as if our lives don’t necessarily matter. Unlike the lies that we feed ourselves, God sees us as important; He gave each and every one of us our own unique traits. He created you with your purpose in mind; He has prepared good works for you to do. God tells us in His word that we have been given this life according to his purpose. He wants you to reach out and share the Gospel with those who need to hear it. God has so much in store for your future. Believe that, and ask Him to reveal it to you!
As Johnny Diaz put it so beautifully
“There could never be a more beautiful you
Don’t buy the lies, disguises and hoops, they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you.”
I want to encourage you this week, to use your own uniqueness that God has instilled in you to find that purpose in Him.
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
