Take a moment to think about your Father’s heart toward you. Your Heavenly Father.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loves us so much!
The sins of this world have to lead us to do so much wrong. They have to lead us to go places we shouldn’t be going, say things we shouldn’t say, and do things we shouldn’t be doing. But God loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for our sins so that we may be made whole and forgiven.
How is this possible?
Someone had to pay the price; God used His sinless Son as payment to save YOU and ME. He sent Jesus to take away the death that we deserve because of His love for us.
While we have seen some pretty brutal things about fathers on the news or on shows, we have also heard some really great things! For example, the one father who ran a whole triathlon with his handicapped son. His son’s dream was to be in the contest and the father’s dream was to meet his son’s need for and with him. Although they did not come in first or second place, they still finished the long grueling task — Together.
The father ran the race with his son.
Now, our Heavenly Father loves us even more, and is running the race with each and every one of us! If we have asked Jesus into our hearts we are pressing on toward the prize!
Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
God’s heart is so big for all of us. His love is so awesome. He wants only what’s best for us. He cares for us and wants us to be healed and cleansed from our sin. He wants us to be in right relationship with Him and all of those around us on our way to Heaven. He has so much in store for us and a wonderful resting place.
