Hey, pretty ladies! Yep, today is an international fry day! So, what better way to celebrate this awesome holiday than to make homemade fries?! Today I’m going to show you how to make Healthy Sweet Potato Fries. So let’s get started!

Here is what you’ll need to get started:

  • 1 bag of sweet potatoes
  • Spices of your choice (we used garlic powder, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and sea salt)
  • olive oil
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • baking sheet

Step 1:

Preheat the oven to 450 and cover it with the non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2:

Peel your sweet potatoes.

Step 3:

Cut your sweet potatoes into fry-like shapes. Try to cut them roughly into the same size so that they cook at the same rate. Don’t worry if they aren’t perfect! They’ll taste good and that’s all that really matters!

Step 4:

Then, soak your fries in water overnight to bring out some of the starch to achieve a crispier fry! I placed a bowl on top of the potatoes while they were soaking just to make sure they were under the water.

Step 5:

Strain your fries and rinse them off with water.

Step 6:

Pour a couple of teaspoons (1-2) of olive oil into a large bowl and add your sweet potatoes. Toss the potatoes until they are all lightly covered in oil. Try not to soak your fries to avoid them getting soft. Once they are all lightly coated add the spices of your choice. We just sprinkled some garlic powder, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and we added a little bit of salt.

Step 7:

Lay your fries out onto the baking sheet. Try to make sure that they aren’t on top of each other to avoid uneven cooking!

Step 8:

Bake your fries at 450 for 30 minutes, flipping occasionally.

Step 9: Enjoy!
