I’ve seen so many cute hats accessorized with everything from tassels, to pompoms, to cute cursive sayings this season, so I decided to recreate some!
I’m actually very pleased with how cute these DIYs turned out to be, and what’s even better is that they were super simple to assemble!
Tassel Fedora:

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Woven Fedora (I got this one at my local Dollar Store!)
- Tassel Trim (Make sure to measure around the base of the crown!)
- E6000 Glue (Available at your local Wal-Mart.)
- Scissors
Step 1:
If your fedora came with a ribbon, go ahead and remove it. I was able to just pull it off gently.
You could do this step before you purchase your tassel trim to use it as a measurement guide.
Step 2:
Measure your tassel trim to the base of the crown and trim accordingly.
Step 3 & 4:
Use your E6000 to glue your tassel trim around the base of the crown (where the pre-existing ribbon was).
I suggest doing this in smaller sections so it’s not too overwhelming and you don’t get glue all over. Make sure to glue the ends of your trim so it doesn’t unravel!
Step 5:
Wait for the E6000 to dry!
Voila! Enjoy your wonderfully tasseled hat in the summer sun!
“Do Not Disturb” Sun Hat:

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- A wide-brimmed hat (I purchased this one in the dollar spot of my local Target for $3.00!)
- Black Trim (sequined, braided, etc. – I purchased 2 1/2 yards from my local Joann Fabrics!)
- E6000
- Scissors
- A pencil
Step 1:
Write out your saying on the brim of the hat in pencil.
Step 2:
Begin gluing your trim onto the brim of your hat. Make sure to cover the ends, so your trim doesn’t fray!
Step 4:
Let your hat dry for 24hrs before wearing it!
