Purpose

pur·pose

ˈpərpəs/

noun

noun: purpose; plural noun: purposes

1.
The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists

By definition, purpose sounds like such a simple thing. Like we are just born knowing what our purpose should be. I believe it’s safe to say that for most of us, it’s a much harder task than that… It’s years of development, trial and error, and experimenting with different activities. Finding out our purpose in life is a continual process and it’s never quite done. New pages are added every day to your book of purpose. Whether you find out you really love makeup, or books, or that type of music, there’s usually a reason why you love those things. Maybe you don’t realize it right now, but I promise the reason will show up sooner or later. One thing is for certain though: YOU HAVE A PURPOSE.

Often times as women we are told by the media and other outlets where and what we should find purpose in. Most of the time they are the wrong things too. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard that we should find our purpose in a man, our weight, or our beauty when in reality those things are so surface-level deep and completely wrong. As young women, we have so much more to offer this world creatively, intellectually, and spiritually than just our looks. We are full of endless possibilities just waiting to be explored, but instead, we get put in this cramped, box full of lies and completely lacking our true purposes.

Each of us was created with a purpose in mind. Individually crafted and wonderfully made with different talents and capabilities set forth by God in each of us for a reason. God set you apart knowing only you could do what you do, love what you love, be who you are, for the furtherance of His Kingdom. I heard a quote once saying “ Your calling is where your deepest joy and the world’s greatest needs cross.” I believe that with my whole heart. The things we love in life and the world’s needs are often coherent with each other. Do you love people, art, dogs, music, or fashion? How can you use those things you love and channel them toward bettering the world around you? You see; your purpose doesn’t lie in the superficial, plastic, surface brushing things of life. It lies deep down in the depths of the things you cherish most. It lies in your love for Jesus, but most importantly in Jesus’s love for you. We are given purpose because He first loved us.

On this journey of establishing Crowned With Love, we found that, for each of us involved in the creative process, our purpose and the things we love were hand in hand. From fashion to editing to photography to beauty; they each play a specific role in CWL, and in sharing God’s love through some of the things we’re most passionate about.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Habakkuk 2:3

For still the vision awaits its appointed time;

it hastens to the end—it will not lie.

If it seems slow, wait for it;

it will surely come; it will not delay.
