How many times have you missed out on something great because you couldn’t see past your own idea of what perfect is? Maybe you justify it by saying “The moment just didn’t meet my standards.” or “It just wasn’t right.”
In Psalm 18:32 it says, “It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect“
It’s never us who really have the perfect plan or idea for our lives, but instead, it is God who ultimately is in control of each and every aspect of our lives.
He knows what is best for you and your life. Sometimes God will use uncomfortable situations to remove your “perfectionist” mindset. Maybe He’ll throw a big change in your life. Maybe He’ll send a person who thinks outside the box to help you understand that it’s ok to let go of the reigns of perfectionism and let God be in control.
Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
This Bible verse reminds me of the Nike slogan “Just do it!”
Quite often we may wait for the perfect time to do anything. When we do this, we could be waiting forever and never accomplish the important things in life. You might just miss out on real, beautiful and perfectly imperfect moments, whether it be putting off reading your Bible or asking God for guidance.
God moves spontaneously; let’s try not to be so caught up in our perfect moments and essentially miss His.
When we are weak in our own humanness is when God makes us whole in His power.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weakness so that the Power of Christ may rest upon me.
