While driving home from my morning class, I heard “Live Like You’re Loved,” a new song written by Hawk Nelson. I was touched, the song really lifted my spirit.

When I was a teenager my parents had a rule – no matter where I was, or what I was doing, I could call them any time, and they would pick me up and bring me home no questions asked. They knew that sometimes I’d get myself into trouble, maybe going to a party that got out of hand, or maybe doing something I knew I shouldn’t do. They were emphatic: “No matter what
you get yourself into, we will always be here to get you out if you want us to. You won’t be in trouble.”
That rule stuck with me. It was my parent’s way of saying “We are your safety net. We love you unconditionally and we always will.”
I truly believe that when we KNOW we are loved, without a shadow of a doubt, and without any conditions, we live our lives differently. It gives us the courage to go into the world with boldness and confidence.
This is how GOD loves us. Unconditionally. Actually, He loves even more perfectly and flawlessly than even my parents. He loves us with a sacrificial love. In fact, His love makes us into someone WORTHY to receive it. WOW! It doesn’t have to be earned – it has already been purchased for us. All we have to do is accept it and live in it!
So… we can go into the world BOLDLY, knowing we are unconditionally loved by the creator of all things!
