HAPPY NATIONAL DONUT DAY!!

Today we’ll be showing you an easy way to make donuts in your own home! If you’re not as adventurous, scroll all the way to the bottom of this post to find out where to get your free donut today!

Here is what you’ll need:

  • Refrigerated biscuit dough
  • Pure canola oil
  • Cookie-cutter about 1″ (for the center of the donuts)
  • Large saucepan
  • Paper towels
  • Cooling rack(s)

Step 1:

Fill the saucepan halfway with the canola oil and set over medium-high heat.

Step 2:

Place paper towels on the cooling rack. This is where you will place your donuts when they come out of the hot oil.

Step 3:

While the oil in the saucepan is heating up, separate the biscuits and use the cookie cutter to make circles in the center of each disk. We also rolled some of our biscuits into little donut balls.

Step 4:

Once the oil has reached around 375 (F) degrees place two donuts in until golden.

Step 5:

Flip onto the other side and fry until golden.Step 6:

Once golden on both sides, scoop out of the pan and place on the paper towel-lined cooling rack.

Repeat the frying process for each donut until golden on both sides, this should take about 1 minute per donut.

Step 7:

Go crazy and decorate them!

Don’t be shy with what you use to decorate your yummy golden donuts!

Here are some of the ways we decorated ours:

1: S’mores

2: Bird’s Nest

3: Beach Scene

4: Pink Lady

5: The Elvis Presley

6: Cinna-minis
